
An educational event for children in aid to raise awareness on animal welfare took place in Ħal Għaxaq.
Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Animal Rights Alicia Bugeja Said joined in on the children’s activities that brought the children together with various different animals.
The aim of the activity was to increase the children’s awareness on animal welfare and the important role animals play in our society.
During the event, Parliamentary Secretary stated, “Love for animals begins during childhood. Through activities like these, we continue to instil values of empathy, respect, and love for animals in future generations.”
Animal themes books were distributed to children who were present during the activities. These books were provided by the Office of the Animal welfare commissioner in aid to educate children.
The children will remember the various animals they saw, including dogs and horses from the Malta Police Force.
The Mayor of Ħal Għaxaq, Karl Boxall, explained how educational initiatives like this lead to future generations with greater awareness of animal welfare.
