Malta Premier announced that Justin Huber has just become the oldest player ever since the Malta Premier Division was introduced back in 1980.
At 43 years, 3 months and 12 days old, Haber has beat the record of Ray Xuereb from Naxxar Lions, who made a substitute appearance against Floriana on the last MD of season 1994/95.
Xuereb was 42 years, 7 months and 16 days old at the time.

Thailand has become the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, following the royal endorsement of a landmark bill by King Maha Vajiralongkorn. The legislation, approved by the Senate in June, will take effect on January 22, 2025, and was published in the Royal Gazette on Tuesday.
This historic move follows years of advocacy by LGBTQ+ activists and marks a significant step towards equality in the region. The new law replaces gender-specific terms like “husband” and “wife” with gender-neutral language and grants same-sex couples full legal, financial, and medical rights, including adoption and inheritance.
Former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who supported the bill, celebrated the development as a milestone for equity and gender diversity in Thai society. LGBTQ+ activists, including Ann Chumaporn, co-founder of the Bangkok Pride movement, hailed the law as a victory for human dignity, with plans to organize a mass wedding for over 1,000 couples on the day it takes effect.
Thailand joins Taiwan and Nepal as the only places in Asia where same-sex marriage is legal. While the country has a reputation for LGBTQ+ tolerance, activists note that challenges remain in achieving full societal acceptance.

“Schools must never be a target. And, most importantly, civilians, especially children, should never be a target.” These were the words of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Ian Borg, during a United Nations Security Council meeting on peace and security in Ukraine on Tuesday.
The session included the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Minister Borg is leading Malta’s involvement in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York this week.
In his statement, Borg urged Russia to cease hostilities and fully withdraw from Ukraine, calling for a peaceful resolution that respects international borders, human rights, and the UN Charter.
He emphasised the devastating impacts of attacks on Ukraine’s power infrastructure, which have crippled energy systems and will leave civilians facing electricity shortages and limited heating during the winter.
Borg also stressed the war’s disproportionate effects on women and children, noting that it has caused the largest displacement crisis in decades, with over four million people internally displaced and six million refugees.
He reiterated Malta’s call for unhindered humanitarian access in Ukraine, where 14.6 million people require aid.
Additionally, Borg participated in a summit on synthetic drug threats hosted by US President Joe Biden and held bilateral meetings with officials from Azerbaijan, Egypt, and India. Malta is engaged in over 90 high-level events and 27 bilateral meetings during this year’s UNGA.
