Gżira Mayor Calls Out Impermissible Construction Work

Gżira Mayor Calls Out Impermissible Construction Work

Gzira mayor Conrad Borg Manche took to social media to post images of reportedly impermissible construction work, despite it not being allowed during the specific week due to the feast.

‘I made it public so that whoever needs to see this does so and takes action as I am tired of such things’, he wrote.

‘We have been reporting this particular individual but nothing happens. Working without a permit – so that everyone knows he is not doing so with our blessing but with that of the authorities who fine only those who they want.’

He called out the hypocrisy of an angered public getting fined for parking wrongly whilst these individuals are working without a permit and without being stopped or fined.

‘The system of enforcement is not working. That is where the reforms need to happen if we want order in this country’, he concluded.

Tourist Returns To Malta To Reunite With Lost iPhone

Tourist Returns To Malta To Reunite With Lost iPhone

Luke Plummer, a man from Coventry, returned to Malta to be reunited with his lost iPhone 13 after it was found at the bottom of the sea in Malta.

According to CoventryLive, Plummer lost his phone while out kayaking with friends in St Thomas Bay.

However, this was not the end for his phone after a diver found it and, to everyone’s surprise, still operational. Maltese police contacted Luke through his home number from the emergency contacts.

He recounted to the newsroom how it ended up falling in deep water but was contacted a day after he arrived home from the Malta Police Force.

“He said that the police said that they could not send it back to him, even though he offered to pay for the postage and a courier, and they said that they could hand it over to the Maltese embassy. “They (the embassy) said they couldn’t help as they don’t deal with lost property, they can only help with stolen property.”

He snapped a photo with two officers, posing with his fully operational phone.
