Mar 31 2021 Share

The new measure which limits people in public from groups of 4 to groups of 2 will be effect as of today 31st March 2021. This number is not applicable if the members are of the same household. This measure was put into effect by government after the Health Authorities recommended them due to this week’s various holidays and festivities.

The fine appointed to any one found breaking this rule will amount to €300, which is a €100 increase from previous fines accompanied to breaking this measure. Health Authorities remind the public that despite vaccine roll-out being the main offence against COVID-19, obeying measures is necessary for mitigation as well.

White paper proposes up to 7 grams cannabis possession & cultivating up to 4 plants

Mar 30 2021 Share

Excerpts from White Paper in regards to cannabis reform have revealed that a decriminalisation of up to 7 grams of cannabis possession and a 4 plant household growth for personal use will come into effect

Government has thus proposed that possession of more than 7 grams but less than 28 grams for one’s exclusive personal use should be subject to proceedings before Commissioner for Justice.

Consumption of cannabis in public will however not be allowed. A €233.33 fine will be administered if this is breached.

Every residential household can thus grow up to 4 plants in a space not visible to the public and that does not allow smells to be emitted. The cultivated cannabis cannot be sold and can be consumed only in the same household. Consumption cannot occur in front of minors.
