The Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion, a significant investment in sports infrastructure for Gozo, is nearing completion, marking a crucial milestone for local athletes.
This expansive complex, spanning over 5,000 square meters, is set to revolutionize sports not only in Gozo but on a national level, encompassing a wide range of disciplines including basketball, volleyball, netball, badminton, handball, paddle, squash, gymnastics, dance, table tennis, and martial arts.
The realization of this project underscores the monumental planning and effort involved in creating a state-of-the-art sports facility that meets the diverse needs of the Gozitan sports community.
To celebrate this achievement, the Ministry for Gozo and Planning is hosting an Open Day on Sunday, April 14th, inviting the public to witness the progress firsthand and learn about the innovative features of the pavilion.
Visitors can experience a virtual reality walkthrough of the facility and engage with the project architect to gain insights into its design and purpose. The event will also include a Children’s Football Tournament at the Gozo College Secondary School grounds, along with family-friendly entertainment like face painting, character meet-and-greets, and a bouncy castle.
This Open Day offers a unique opportunity for the public to explore and appreciate the impact of the Gozo Indoor Sports and Aquatic Pavilion, highlighting its importance in advancing sports infrastructure and opportunities in Gozo and beyond.
