In a recent Parliamentary Questions session, Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon revealed that the government will not be raising the statutory retirement age beyond 65.
The discussion was brought about by Nationalist MP Graziella Attard Previ, who asked the minister whether the government have plans to raise the retirement age.
Minister Michael Falzon categorically rejected the notion that the government was planning to raise the statutory retirement age, even stating that the government has made it clear that they will not be raising the retirement age.
Falzon also reminded Attard Previ that the last time the retirement age was changed was all the way back in 2006.
