Beach clean-ups, environment-related films and even a book recycling drive will make up some of the activities set to occur during this week. With Eden cinemas dedicating 1 screen for the full week and showing environmental films free of charge, a €1 donation will go towards a green fund. Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne took to social media to announce the the daily ‘Sahha’ COVID-19 infographic will be placing main emphasis on hospitalisations and ITU admissions. Revealing that there are 29 COVID positive patients at Mater Dei Hospital with two of them in the ITU, the daily updates will be focusing on this aspect of the pandemic in Malta instead of the daily and active cases.

This information is still to be issued – revealing how many cases are active or have been registered daily, if any deaths occurred and how many vaccinations have so far been administered. As of yesterday 6th September 2021, Malta had 710 active COVID-19 cases with 445 total deaths.  799,214 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were also administered as of the 5th of September, with the rollout of booster doses to elderly care home residents kicking off.
