Germany and Luxembourg added to Malta’s amber list

Travellers coming to Malta from Germany and Luxembourg will now have to present a negative COVID-19 prior to arrival. 

Amongst others, certain airports in the UK, Poland and Spain have been added to the Amber list.

Malta’s current amber list is as follows: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy (Milan and Rome all airports, and Bologna, Naples, Perugia, Pescara, Pisa, Trieste, Turin, Venice), Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (Porto), Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom (Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham)

€5 million to be donated to the Puttinu Cares Foundation

The government has finalised an agreement where it will donate a grant of €5 million to the Puttinu Cares Foundation. 

The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister oversaw the process, making use of the National Social and Development fund, which will allow Puttinu Cares to invest in more apartments in London. 

Prime Minister Robert Abela stated how this process reflects Maltese values and Deputy Prime Minister Fearne highlighted the fact that 800 yearly patients are sent for specialised care, most of which go to London.

141 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 97 recoveries

Malta has registered 141 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,014 swab tests, while 97 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

From yesterday’s cases; 10 cases were family members of previously known cases, 6 cases were contact of positive work colleagues and 5 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases.

To date, Malta has registered 7,537 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 5,371 have recovered, 85 died and 2,081 are still active.
