Welsh and Real Madrid superstar has agreed to join MLS side Los Angeles FC on a year-long contract, which will see him regain his fitness before Wales’s long awaited World Cup campaign. He will reportedly have an option to extend his stay stateside for a further 18 months.
The 32 year old will join fellow European star and former Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini in what will be an interesting experience in Los Angeles. He reportedly had many other offers from clubs even in Europe, such as hometown side Cardiff City.

In June, Bale had this to say after helping his country qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar; “I just want to be playing going into the World Cup to be as fit as I can,”
“Once I get back into playing regular football, my body will get more robust and a bit better.
“It’s very difficult when you’re in and out of a team to get a rhythm in terms of your fitness and health. Any player will tell you, playing week-in week-out, your body becomes more robust, you get used to it and you get fitter by doing that. I just need to play games and I’ll be good to go.”
It has been a very good summer for MLS teams when it comes to transfers. Los Angeles FC have not been the only team signing European players with big reputations with Toronto FC signing former Napoli captain and Italian national team star Lorenzo Insigne.
