‘Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favourite times of my life’, wrote LeBlanc.
‘It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.’
‘Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.’

Police Handcuff Moviment Graffitti’s Andre Callus During Mosta Tree Protest
During a protest held in the main Mosta Square earlier today, members of the Malta Police Force handcuffed Moviment Graffitti leader and Mosta resident Andre Callus in a clash between protestors and police.

Callus was one of the activists present during the ongoing protests against the removal of 12 Ficus trees in the Mosta square, which were planned to be moved to another area in Mosta. Safe to say, the decision ruffled a few feathers, with activists, environmentalists, residents and outspoken members of the Maltese population expressing their dismay at the decision.
“In reaction to our actions to stop the absurd remove of protected trees, the Police, with violent, intimidating and aggressive actions have just arrested one of us. We are here and will remain here to protect that which belongs to Mosta residents and us all,” Graffitti wrote in a recent statement.

“We’re Defacing Our Country Instead of Greening It”, Love Island’s Allen Speaks Out
The controversial tree removal in the heart of Mosta sent the entire country into a national discussion, and Love Island Season One winner Allen Piscopo has given his two cents on the matter.
Having a Master of Science in Natural Environment and Resources Management, Piscopo stated that he had the duty to comment on the matter, especially for the fact that he works in the same sector.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote that he is irritated that the environment has once again been refused the importance it deserves. Piscopo went on to highlight that trees do not only offer shelter for flora and fauna such as birds, but also decrease the surface temperature significantly.
“I have always been of the understand that the tree was there first, so why aren’t projects planned in ways that complement these trees? Why are the trees always caught in the middle, like they are defacing the country?”
To conclude, he wrote “It’s good that we take care of our trees and ‘uprooting’ is done well, but trees in our urban spaces are much more important. We’re Defacing Our Country Instead of Greening It.”
Do you agree with Allen?
