Fully vaccinated Maltese residents can quarantine in their homes starting Friday

Fully vaccinated Maltese residents can quarantine in their homes starting next Friday

Speaking at a press conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne announced that persons coming from countries listed as dark red who have a vaccine certificate and are Maltese residents will be able to quarantine in their own homes. This can only happen if all the other residents in the household are fully vaccinated in order to avoid putting others at risk. This will come into effect as of next Friday 17th September 2021.

This comes as the focus shifts from the Delta variant onto the MU variant, which also lead to countries like Russia and India to have their status as dark red countries revisited. Friday will also see the acceptance of the Canadian vaccine certificate, with those travelling with said certificate not needing to quarantine.

During the conference, Minister Fearne also addressed the country’s current situation with regards to the pandemic and went on to tackle the current COVID-19 restriction, including Malta’s acceptance of the Canadian vaccine certificate.

Billie Eilish bringing back Old Hollywood in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown came at a price for the fashion house. The musical star made sure her first appearance at the fashion event would be a debut no one forgot any time soon. This is because Eilish convinced Oscar de la Renta to go completely fur-free before she donned their design on the red carpet.

Eilish, a 19-year-old vegan, voiced her thanks to the label’s creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim for listening to her on the matter. On Instagram, Eilish stated that it was an honour to wear the dress knowing that going forward Oscar de la Renta will be completely fur-free. The change, said Billie, would impact the greater good, not only for animals but also for our planet and the environment. Eilish expressed joy at being a catalyst on such an important matter.

Alex Bolen, chief executive of Oscar de la Renta, told CNN that he was endeavouring to surround himself with people who have different points of view, particularly young people.
