From Vascas To Heir & Loom: Promise Of Enduring Value

From Vascas To Heir & Loom: Promise Of Enduring Value
Apr 11 2024 Share

The name “Heir and Loom” is more than a title; it’s a promise of enduring value. Derived from the term “heirloom,” it reflects the brand’s commitment to creating jewellery that withstands the test of time—it’s an investment, a legacy to be passed down from one generation to another.

Mr. Mark Vassallo, the founder and director of Heir & Loom, previously co-founded Vascas alongside Mr. Arthur Castillo. The two knew each other as they worked in the same sector, until one day they decided to join forces and opened the well established household name of Vascas.

After 30 successful years, Mr. Vassallo decided it was time to move on from the name and open up a new establishment under the name of ‘Heir & Loom’, together with his 3 dedicated children who have always shown interest in the business – Becky, Nicky and Andy. Becky oversees online auctions, Nicky performs the role of Business Development Manager, and Andy is a certified gemologist from GIA.

Former patrons of Vascas have seamlessly migrated their loyalty to Heir & Loom. While the retail experience may differ, Heir & Loom’s unwavering commitment to exceptional service and product excellence remains unchanged. Continual innovation and an eye for quality propel the brand toward its aspiration of becoming a household name in the jewellery sector.

EU Vote To Make Abortion Fundamental Right

EU Vote To Make Abortion Fundamental Right
Apr 11 2024 Share

63% of the European Parliament voted in favour of the right to abortion to be added to the Charter of Fundamental Rights, whereas 30% voted against and 7% abstained.

The only two people to vote against the move from the Socialists were Maltese MEPs Alex Agius Saliba and Josianne Cutajar. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Alfred Sant abstained.

On social media, Alex Agius Saliba explained that he once again vote against the ‘imposition of abortion in our country’.

‘Europe has no right to impose upon us – it is the Maltese public, with all its sovereignty, that has the right to decide about this issue.’

On the other side of the issue, MEP Cyrus Engerer explained that due to parliamentary work abroad, he would not be in Brussels to vote in the plenary.

‘I worked on behalf of the Socialists and Democrats to negotiate the resolution to protect the fundamental right of women, girls and people who can get pregnant to access the healthcare they need by including safe and legal abortion in the European Charter of Fundamental Rights.’
