The long awaited reunion of the iconic fan-favourite sitcom Friends will allegedly be using the original fountain used in the opening credits of the series. The reunion was also partly filmed on the shows’ old stage over a three-day period last week. A live audience will also be part of the reunion, allegedly made up of hired union extras who were screened for COVID-19.

Chandler Bing actor Matthew Perry posted a photo, and quickly deleted, a photo on Instagram of himself getting ready with the caption ‘Seconds before eating a makeup brush. Not to mention reuniting with my Friends.’ Shortly afterwards, a photo from Warner Bros. Studios lot shows bleachers and equipment set up around the iconic fountain. Who knows what else this reunion has in store for us fans!

The Mellieha local council and Transport Malta have backed up the plan to turn a disused quarry in Armier into an off-road motorsports track. The decision was met with objections from environmentalists, activists and farmers in the area as the 16,000sqm area which is set to be transformed is already being used as a dumping site for debris. The concerns raised are in regards to the project’s impact on the agricultural area, which is protected under law.

An application for the project was already submitted in 2016 but has underwent several changes since. The Mellieha local council informed the planning authority that it is backing the project, with environmentalists stating that the project will lead to significant pollution and traffic towards the otherwise rural area.

Huge queues have formed as the UK opens several bars and shops with customers making their way out of lockdown to either shop or grab a drink. Part of the roadmap out of lockdown as set by Boris Johnson was reopening beer gardens across England, with a rule of six in application – meaning people can meet up to five other people from different households.

Gyms, outdoor hospitality and non-essentials are also reopening. Shoppers have also made it to High Street after around three months of closure. Primark shops saw queues forming at around 7am in London and Birmingham and like many other shops extended opening hours to 10pm to avoid crowding. And that’s not all as some customers found a way around the queue problem by camping outside bars!

He went on to state that no matter how tiring and annoying the situation may be, it is not the time to throw parties and appealed to the public to hang on and stay safe, wrapping up his sentiments with the hashtag #saveourbusiness.
