Hibernians scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute. The goal was a brilliant volley from outside the box, scored by experienced center-back Andrei Aguis. The goal meant that the Maltese side cannot lose by a 2-goal margin in Malta in order to qualify for the Playoff.

The Hibernians players will be up for the match, as no Maltese team has ever passed to the playoff round of a European competition. Hibernians will most likely face Slovan Bratislava after they beat Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps, 3-1 in Gibraltar. If the Maltese side reach the playoff, they will only be 2 matches away the group stage of a European competition, where they can face major football clubs like Tottenham Hotspurs, AS Roma and Celtic.

Hibernians will be playing their next leg against Riga next Thursday the 12th of August. We wish Hibernians a big good luck for their next leg in Malta.
