Foreign woman in Malta finds hair loss hack after shower causes issue

In a TikTok video making the rounds on Maltese social media, a foreign woman in Malta has claimed to have found a hair loss hack that is now being picked up by many of her followers.

The woman reveals that she was worried about her sudden increase in hair loss. Speaking around with friends, she was tipped off at the possibility that this was being caused by shower water.

She went on to purchase a water filter, and lo and behold, the hair loss decreased significantly. She compared clumps of lost hair after showering from before and after, with the latter being mere strands.

It also helps that i now follow better hair care routine. If you want to get the same water filter i use, it is linked in my bio. #hairfall #hairtok #haircare #hairlossremedy #malta #fyp

Documenting her experience on TikTok, the video raked up thousands of views and re-shares as people revealed that they were having the same experience in Malta.

This isn’t the first time Malta’s water systems have raised suspicions. A research published in 2020 showed that exposure to chemicals in Malta’s tap water is linked to almost a fifth of all bladder cancer cases.

The study reported that the local situation is among the worst in Europe, with the amount of hazardous chemicals in the water and the associated risks being the second-highest compared to other EU states.

Convicted rapist wanted by Bulgaria released from arrest after mistake

Aug 9 2022 Share

A Maltese judge has ordered the release of a 47-year old man wanted by Bulgaria after the Maltese and Bulgarian authorities failed to arrange his necessary travel arrangements for his return to Bulgaria within the 10-day period established by law.

Tencho Gospodinov Tenev, who lived in Żabbar, was arrested last May after a Schengen Information System Alert and a European Arrest Warrant for his arrest was issued by a Bulgarian prosecutor in July 2020. He is wanted as he is supposed to serve a three year prison sentence after he was convicted of rape back in 2013.

A court of Magistrates had ordered Tenev’s return to his home country back in May, but the Bulgarian was still in Malta on August the 4th, the last day of the ten day period to send him home. The AG did file a request to extend the period due to the Bulgarian authorities having insufficient human resources to escort the man and because of difficulties found in getting permission to catch connecting flights.

Tenev’s lawyers Roberto Montalto and Roberto Spiteri requested his release as they argued that it was unfair of the Maltese authorities to let this happen last minute and because of the fact that the ten day period had ended.

Judge Aaron Bugeja ordered the court to release Tenev saying that it had been “entirely the obligation and within the control of the requesting country and Malta”. However it was reported by MaltaToday that there are no legal issues stopping the Maltese police from arresting the man again.
