A new phrasebook titled Il-Vjaġġ it-Tajjeb – Essential Maltese for Ground and Cabin Crew has been released to assist foreign airport staff and cabin crew in communicating with passengers in Maltese. Published by the Department of Maltese at the University of Malta, the booklet offers essential vocabulary tailored for various travel scenarios, from airport security protocols to in-flight food and beverage orders.

The resource is divided into eight sections covering critical aspects of cabin and ground crew duties, facilitating effective communication during check-in, boarding, safety briefings, and passenger interactions. It includes practical phrases for greetings, apologies, directions, and responses to passenger inquiries.

Additionally, a companion website, malti.mt/learnmaltese, features audio clips to aid staff in proper pronunciation of each phrase. This phrasebook is part of a broader series aimed at enhancing language skills among various professionals and the general public in Malta, ensuring better communication in the aviation sector. The booklet serves as a valuable reference for those working in the industry, fostering improved interactions with passengers and colleagues alike.

Pringles is giving fans something to celebrate as it brings back its beloved Dill Pickle flavour, causing a stir online. Originally launched in 2022, Pringles Dill Pickle quickly became a favourite among snack enthusiasts, with its signature salty, tangy taste and a hint of herbal dill. Now, after a wave of requests from fans, the flavour has returned, sparking excitement across social media platforms.

Mauricio Jenkins, Pringles’ U.S. head of marketing, commented on the fanfare, stating, “From TikTok videos to fan requests, the nation’s dill pickle craving is undeniable — and Pringles always aims to satisfy the latest trending flavor craving.”

Pickle-flavoured snacks have remained popular in recent years, with new products like Spicy Dill Pickle Goldfish crackers and even pickle-flavoured cupcakes hitting shelves. Pringles is tapping into this growing trend with the re-release of its Dill Pickle flavour, which has become the second most requested comeback in the brand’s history, just behind Honey Mustard, which returned earlier this year.

The return of Pringles Dill Pickle is giving long-time fans another taste of their favourite snack, while also enticing first-timers to dive into the ever-growing pickle craze.

The inaugural National Forum on Media and Information, organized by deputies Karol Aquilina and Claudette Buttigieg, emphasized the crucial role of free and independent media in a democratic society. The event, attended by numerous journalists, editors, and media professionals, opened with a tribute to Daphne Caruana Galizia and Karl Gouder.

Aquilina highlighted ongoing parliamentary discussions on laws impacting journalism, stressing the necessity for supportive media, genuine journalism, and the fight against fake news. Minister Jonathan Attard assured continued governmental consultation on media legislation.

Speaker Anglu Farrugia called for ethical reporting, asserting that “every report must be based on the truth.” Participants, including Professor Andrew Azzopardi and lawyer Therese Comodini Cachia, urged for reforms in the Broadcasting Authority and the implementation of recommendations from the Caruana Galizia murder inquiry.

Concerns about disinformation were echoed by professors Alexiei Dingli and George Vital Zammit, who warned against the dangers of fake news. The forum concluded with calls for open dialogue and critical analysis, emphasizing the need for accountability in media practices and the importance of fostering a culture of independent journalism.

The Richmond Foundation will hold its Annual Mental Health Conference on October 25, titled “Empowering Your People: Healthy Minds for a Thriving Workplace.” The event will bring together industry leaders, mental health experts, and business professionals to discuss strategies for improving mental well-being in the workplace.

Collaborating with Working Town and UP Your Level – Performance Advisory, Coaching & Training, the conference will take place at the Dolmen Hotel in St Paul’s Bay. The agenda includes keynote speeches, workshops, and panel discussions focusing on creating healthier work environments.

Keynote speakers include Kate Hull Rodgers, Managing Director of HumourUs, who will discuss “The Impact of Humour & Mood on the Workplace.” Karl Bennett, Chair of EAPA UK, will present on “The Benefits Organisations Can Gain from Investing in Their Employees’ Mental Well-being.” Andrew Fox, a former British Army senior lecturer and PTSD survivor, will also participate in a discussion about trauma in the workplace.
