On Thursday, Prime Minister Robert Abela inaugurated a €12 million factory extension by Seifert Systems at Ħal Far.
Accompanied by Minister for Energy, Environment and Enterprise Miriam Dalli, the Prime Minister praised the company for becoming the first of its nature to operate without producing environmental pollution.
The company has invested in state of the art machinery to ensure its carbon footprint is absolutely reduced. This, Abela said, works well with the government’s other measures to improve Malta’s sustainability and eco-friendliness.
In a statement, the Prime Minister highlighted how the German company, which was has been based in Malta for 50 years and employs more than 450 people, will continue to create more opportunities apart from the 140 newly created employments due to the extension.
The company is also, said Abela, employing more people from Malta whilst also increasing the skill set in technical fields like engineering.
On her part, Minister Miriam Dalli said that she is proud of the investments being attracted to Malta and how it will be investing a further €9 million to expand the business in Malta whilst diversifying into manufacturing of electronics.
