Alex Borg Calls On Youths To Not Give Up On Politics

May 7 2024 Share

In a recent Facebook post Nationalist MP Alex Borg has called on youths to not give up on the Maltese political system after yesterday’s breaking news that former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and others were criminally charged and accused.

Borg started his post by stating that a lot of people, especially the youth have lost faith in this generation of politics and that these recent events have not helped into changing their mentality and that actually these events lead to people not wanting to involve themselves in politics.

He stated that since we are seeing and living in these events, Malta needs more strong youths who truly care about Malta to rise up and change the system and go out and vote.

Borg continued on by saying  that the election on the 8th of June will come and go but that after the election no matter the results there will still be alleged proof that the Maltese people were robbed and that some people allegedly acted with criminal intent.

Borg also alleged that the past is a guarantee of the future and that until the election on the 8th of June, Prime Minister Robert Abela will use whoever he has to use and after the election will just throw them away.

He urged voters to look in the long term and not let those using their power and position in the country ruin their vision.

Continuous efforts by different sections of the Police Corps led to the arrest of a person who was allegedly involved in a series of robberies and theft attempts from Gżira and Imsida apartments.

After various days of observations, investigations led to the identification of the alleged person. The police carried out a surveillance operation in Imsida on Sunday.

Surveillance immediately paid off as police spotted a male person wearing black clothing leaping across rooftops.

The man was identified as the person being searched for, and was carrying out robberies by jumping across roofs and climbing through the balconies.

An intensive search kicked off and the man, a 26 year old Syrian man, was arrested in Triq C De Brocktorff as he was exiting the residence.

Investigations showed that the robberies had started from the beginning of April of this year.

Photos sent to this newsroom show a large amount of rubbish left outside in Marsa’s streets and having gone unpicked by relevant authorities.

The person informing this newsroom, who wished to remain anonymous, said that they have been contacting the Marsa local council over this dumping.

‘Other residents are throwing all type of waste in front of our property instead of their own’, the person said.

‘There should be consequences as this is illegal in Malta as we should separate and dispose our waste.’

The person lamented that leaving rubbish like this leads to further health conditions and diseases, not to mention horrid smells.

‘Is this the reason we vote’, the person asked, urging local councils to do more.
