Infrastructure Malta has taken delivery of the first two steel beams that will form part of the new flyover for the Msida Creek Project.

Each beam measures 28 metres in length and weighs around 60 tonnes. These will make up the initial span of the structure.

The components were transported overnight from Ħal Far to Msida, with assistance from Transport Malta to reduce traffic disruption and ensure a safe delivery.

Their arrival marks the start of the project’s second phase.

Over the coming weeks, additional steel structures will be brought to the site and welded together on location as construction continues. This phase is a key step in assembling the full flyover.

To accommodate the ongoing works, certain routes in and around Msida were changed as of Saturday.

Infrastructure Malta thanked the public for their patience and reminded road users to follow updated signs and traffic directions for their safety and convenience.
