He completed all six lifts, achieving 79kg in the Snatch and 98kg in the Clean & Jerk, setting nine national records. Mifsud narrowly missed silver by just 0.6 Sinclair points to a Polish competitor.

Kim Camilleri Lagana also shone on the first day, winning silver in the Women’s U-17 category. She lifted 65kg in the Snatch and 87kg in the Clean & Jerk, totaling 232 points, just 0.13 points shy of gold.

Malta’s success continued with Tenishia Thornton crowned EU Champion in the U-20 category, and alongside Rylee Borg, winning gold in the doubles. Borg set national records in the U-20 Men’s Snatch (117kg and 120kg) and earned 4th overall.

Camilleri Lagana and Mifsud added another silver in the doubles. The team’s final tally of 3 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze marked one of Malta’s most successful weightlifting competitions to date.
