Fire In Birkirkara: CPD Evacuates Seven Residents

The Civil Protection Department was called to the scene of a structure fire that broke out in a residential building in Birkirkara.

Firefighters from Fire Station 4 responded at around 5:30 a.m. following reports of smoke coming from the upper floor of the building.

Seven residents were safely evacuated from the premises. Emergency personnel from Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department were on site to assess and treat those affected. All sustained minor injuries.

The Civil Protection Department also extended its thanks to the Malta Police Force and Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department for their assistance during the operation.

Originally established as a boys’ secondary school in the Il-Karwija area, the school has grown into a vibrant co-educational institution that has served the Kirkop community for the past decade.
