Six-year-old Zaylen Borg was given a final farewell during a deeply emotional funeral held at Għargħur Parish Church. Family, friends, and members of the community gathered to celebrate the young boy’s life and mourn his tragic passing following a drowning incident that shocked the nation.
The skies over Għargħur were filled with blue and white balloons, colours chosen to symbolise Zaylen’s innocence and the joy he brought to those around him.
The atmosphere was both heartbreaking and moving, as many came together to say goodbye to the boy whose story touched hearts across Malta.
In a touching Facebook post earlier this week, Zaylen’s mother, Francesca Borg, described him as “my sweet, joyful boy who brought light, laughter, and love into every moment of our lives.”
As a tribute to Zaylen’s memory, mourners were invited to wear blue and white clothing during the service, adding to the sense of unity and love that surrounded the farewell.
Malta Daily sends its sincerest condolences to Zaylen’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
