Miriam Pace’s widower not seeking vendetta despite lenient court sentence

Miriam Pace’s widower not seeking vendetta despite lenient court sentence
Jul 2 2021 Share

Carmel Pace described the sentence issued by court to give ‘just’ 880 hours of community service to the two guilty architects as lenient. However, Pace pointed out that his family was not seeking any form of vendetta for the loss of his wife who was killed in the building collapse. Pace still expected the architects to be given a tougher community sentence after being contacted following the magistrate’s sentence.

Carmel Pace stated that all he can say is ‘there’s no justice in this world, there’s only justice when we move on to the next world. Nothing can bring Miriam back and this is a scar [his] two children and [he] have to carry all [their] lives.’

Commenting on the sentence issued, Joe Giglio stated that in reference to the court issued sentence, the Pace family was never out for vengeance. He emphasised how, when asked as to what sentence should be given, the family never suggested a jail sentence. He pointed out how proud he was to have been working on the team.

Jul 2 2021 Share

Nicole Sciberras shared a deeply thankful and introspective post announcing her departure from the well-known team Juventus. Sciberras opened up her post by stating how the Bianconeri gave her so much in the two years she spent with them – more than she ever imagined. She recalled all her tears of joy and despair, her winning of the prestigious Viareggio Tournament and being called up with the senior team for the Voila tournament in Lyon.

With her surname written in a list amongst top players, Sciberras has shared changing rooms, trained and also forced to sing in front of the whole senior team. Her post is directed at anyone who aims to achieve such goals, with Nicole stating that if she could do it, sou could anyone. We wish Nicole all the best she embarks ‘on a new adventure – FINO ALLA FINE.’

Professional events organisers fuming after Hamrun celebrations

Professional events organisers fuming after Hamrun celebrations
Jul 2 2021 Share

Following the celebrations which took place in Hamrun yesterday evening, the general public and the professional events organisers were left utterly fuming. This comes after an organised demonstration by several artists and events organisers was shut down and forced to take place live online. This portal reached out to the President of the Malta Entertainment Industry and Arts Association Howard Keith Debono.

He first congratulated Hamrun who, since having the blessing of the police and respective authorities, he would have done exactly the same. He however went on to ask why the arts and events industry is being discriminated against. ‘As it stands illegal gatherings have a better chance of happening than anyone trying to do things the proper safe way. The message given out is ALL WRONG and above all ILLOGICAL’ he stated.

DJ Joven Grech also spoke out against this apparent discrimination. He pointed out how the organisers of a pacifist demonstration were about to be fined €6000 each following 17 months being refrained from doing what they love.

Joven pointed out that people did not get the vaccine to satisfy tourists and some businesses but because they want their life back. He went on to say that he has been the ambassador of Malta through his work abroad but Malta did not return the favour.

Many of the general public also expressed their concerns as many people could not organise their dream wedding in a controlled environment.
