Ferry Services To Be Made Free As Of Tomorrow
Jan 14 2024 Share

Speaking during a political activity in Fgura, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced that the Valletta Ferry System will be given for free for those with a Tal-Linja Card as of tomorrow.

This was the first major change announced by the Labour government since the cabinet reshuffle and the swearing in of new Transport Minister Chris Bonett.

As of now, a personalised Tallinja Card for adults, students or Gozitan residents cost €1.30 for a day fare and €1.65 for a night fare. It cost 45c for children or concessions on both day and night fares.

The Valletta Ferry Services operates between Valletta and the Three Cities (Cospicua) and Sliema Ferries.

The system will now be made free for anyone in possession of a Tallinja card, making transportation between the aforementioned localities more accessible.

During her visit to Lithuania, Metsola accepted the Freedom Prize on behalf of the European Parliament, recognising their contributions to democracy, human rights, historical justice, and EU integration.

The European Parliament declined the cash prize, requesting the €11,000 be used for a freedom-supporting cause. The Freedom Prize is awarded annually on January 13, marking the tragic events of January 13, 1991, when Soviet forces attacked Lithuania’s Parliament, TV Tower, and Radio and Television building, resulting in casualties.

Metsola’s Lithuanian visit marked the beginning of a series of trips to member states aimed at promoting voter participation in the upcoming European elections on June 8. These visits involve meetings with national leaders and engaging with young people and civil society representatives in town hall discussions.

A clip uploaded to YouTube shows the Mercedes Electric G-Class doing pirouettes/360 degree turns during CES 2024.

Mercedes-Benz performed a synchronised G-Turn with four of the prototypes in Las Vegas.

The practicality of the 360° tank turn extends beyond mere spectacle. Especially beneficial in off-roading scenarios, the G-turn aids in skilfully navigating obstacles like boulders, requiring nuanced adjustments rather than a full revolution.

Its versatility shines in urban settings, facilitating tight manoeuvres through narrow streets or escaping dead-ends. Beyond recreational fun with friends and family, the EQG’s synchronised G-turn option showcases limitless possibilities for both individuals and organisations.

Despite its seemingly effortless execution, the Mercedes-Benz EQG’s G turn relies on precision engineering, AI, and sensors, automatically distributing power to diagonally opposite wheels to enable rotation without the need for driver intervention.

The robust chassis and suspension are essential to withstand the stresses of the 360° tank turn.
