Father & Son Premier League Debut At National Stadium As Coaches

This weekend saw father and son duo debut together at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali with a win for Melita FC.

Clive Mizzi and Matthew Mizzi led Melita FC to a 2-1 victory against Marsaxlokk.

Taking to social media, Clive shared photos of himself with Matthew long ago at the national stadium and then, fast forward some years later, sharing the pitch with Matthew as assistant coach.

Their win this past weekend, and their draw in their first match in the Premier League, also saw Clive earning coach of the week, with the team’s JP Attard and Da Costa forming part of Team of the Week.

MELITA FC is set to face off against Premier League champions Ħamrun Spartans this Wednesday.

Swedish football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, known for coaching England from 2001 to 2006, passed away at the age of 76 after battling pancreatic cancer.

Eriksson died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He had announced in early 2023 that he was stepping back from public life due to health issues.

Born in Sunne, Sweden, on February 5, 1948, Eriksson transitioned from a modest playing career to a successful managerial one. After starting with Degerfors IF, he went on to manage IFK Goteborg, Benfica, and several top Italian clubs like Roma and Lazio.

His most notable achievement was becoming the first foreigner to manage England’s national team, guiding them to the World Cup quarter-finals in 2002 and 2006.

Eriksson’s tenure with England included a memorable 5-1 victory over Germany but was also marked by controversies in his personal life. He later managed national teams like Mexico, Ivory Coast, and the Philippines, though he never led Sweden’s national team.

In March, Eriksson fulfilled a lifelong dream by managing Liverpool Legends in a charity match, receiving an emotional standing ovation from fans. The Football Association of England remembered him fondly for his significant contributions to the game.

Popular Instagram account, malta.ai, has done it again this time imagining what would Malta’s most expensive traditional mansion look like if it would ever actually be made.

The AI account imagined an illustrious beautiful and massive house of character, resembling the hundreds and thousands of traditional Maltese homes found in most villages and localities.

The inside of the house looks majestic similar to the many Maltese palaces such as San Anton.

The furniture is predominantly antique, adorned with intricate gold accents, and in some cases, made entirely of gold, adding to the hypothetical mansion’s immense value.

For instance, to cater to the island’s passion for football, the house boasts a 5-a-side football pitch within its gallery—a rare and extravagant addition.

The mansion also includes a beautifully crafted traditional bar, perfect for entertaining guests, and a lavish bedroom featuring an enormous double bed, befitting the home’s luxurious theme.
