In a record-breaking packed Paris Olympics filled with fascinating characters and athletes that have made a new name for themselves, it seems like Azerbaijani Yaylagul Ramazanova and Egyptian Nada Hafez have not only made a name for themselves but also for their unborn children.
Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez managed to remarkably make it to the last 16 of the women’s knockou fencing competition whilst being 7 months pregnant, telling her Instagram fans “What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, and my yet to come to our world little baby!”
Hafez was appearing in her third consecutive Olympics and managed to obtain her best result whilst fighting for and with her unborn child.
Despite it being archer Yaylagul Ramazanova’s first ever Olympics, the Azerbaijani won the hearts of various of fans whilst competing 6 and a half months pregnant.
Ramazanova later on revealed that “During the training for the Olympics, I didn’t feel uncomfortable with my pregnancy,” and “Instead, I felt that I was not fighting alone but fighting together with my baby.”
What makes the archer’s story even more remarkable is that before her final shot which was a perfect 10, she reportedly felt a little kick before attempting.
