Facebook videos show narrow ‘two way’ road car jams in Imsida

Facebook videos show narrow ‘two way’ road car jams in Imsida
Mar 21 2023 Share

Videos uploaded to Facebook by Catalin Azzopardi show Triq San Lwiġi, which is a supposed two way road for drivers.

However, the videos show clearly how the road is not wide enough for the road to allow two lanes, with driver altercations and even crashes reported frequent on the road.

‘Footage which describes the mediocrity which us residents and our children go through. A problem which has gotten worse and even more insufferable. It’s a miracle to wake up and not find a new bump on one’s car’ wrote Azzopardi.

The road was also highlighted to have no pavements for children and other residents more in need to use, putting their life at constant risk when using the road.

A meeting had reportedly taken place in the local council, with the road only being considered as ‘one way’ for a single day.

Another video uploaded at 1900hrs shows the exact same traffic jam problem, with Azzopardi calling for real action to be taken to solve this urgent issue. What do you make of this?

If you’ve never heard of the Birgu Flea Market, or are still waiting to go, this might be your official sign that now is the time!

Footage uploaded to TikTok by user @frankmuscat533 shows people going absolutely crazy over bed sheets priced at just €5. The video shows a sizeable crowd waiting to purchase their own bed sheets at the bargain of a price – but that’s not all the Flea Market offers customers!

According to Rhi, who runs the blog ‘Moving On, Up & Away’, the ‘biggest and best flea market in Malta’ offers everything from house plants, car parts, tools, glasses, brass-wear, ‘questionable used old makeup’ and ‘more characters packed into one small space than I’ve ever seen before.’

The flea market on Sunday is, according to Rhi, amazing for people watching.

‘We’ve seen people dressed like 14th century noblemen, women in full on Saturday night club gear, complete with stilettos, people pushing their dogs along in a pushchair, hippies, goths and just about everything you can imagine in-between.’

Have you ever been to the Flea Market?

The footage shows young children dressed in military uniforms, learning how to handle guns and participating in simulated combat drills. Many viewers have expressed concern over the idea of children being taught how to handle weapons and engage in warfare.

However, supporters of the program argue that it is intended to instill discipline and patriotism in young people. They say that the training is similar to the programs offered by scouting organizations and that it helps children to develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and self-reliance.

It is important to note that military training for children is not unique to Russia. Many countries have similar programs, such as the Young Marines in the United States and the Army Cadet Force in the United Kingdom.
