Facebook taken by storm after alleged Holy Mary apparition in Bormla fountain
Aug 25 2021 Share

Maltese Facebook was taken by storm after a photo of what seems to be an apparition of Holy Mary within a water sprout in Bormla was uploaded. The photo was uploaded by Josef Grech, asking everyone to share the photo as he had seen the apparition with his own eyes.

The photos were taken at around 3 am in Bormla, showing what seems to be a veiled figure within a beam of light in a fountain water sprout. The post garnered hundreds of shares, likes and even comments, some amazed by the apparition with others not so much.

The photo was promptly shared by the likes of Terry ta’ Bormla, who, like many others, took the opportunity to write down prayers in association with the alleged apparition. Others were not so convinced, pointing out how people were seeing what they wanted to see and that the apparition was nothing more than just a coincidence or illusion. What do you think it was?

Xarabank host and prisoner’s rights activist Peppi Azzopardi released graphic images of late inmate Colin Galea’s self harm before re-entering prison. Peppi opened his post urging people to really look at the photo whilst also revealing that the prison’s statements that Colin did not show signs of suicide beforehand was a lie. The photo shows images of Colin’s arms after finding out he was being sent back to prison, with Azzopardi saying that the evidence clearly points to self-harm in Malta’s prison being a problem.

He also went on to reveal how Colin attempted to over-dose two days before being admitted into Corradino Correctional Facility. He was taken to Mater Dei for treatment. Peppi states that this is evidence Colin was ‘screaming’ for help as he did not want to return to the place he was locked into two years ago. Colin’s unfortunate passing prompted a suicide prevention board being created to inspect measures at the facility.

Restaurant praised for going of its way to serve child with autism favourite pizza

Restaurant praised for going of its way to serve child with autism favourite pizza
Aug 24 2021 Share

‘Seashells’ restaurant in Xlendi was immensely praised after a Facebook post uploaded to Are You Being Served? Group recounted how the staff served a little boy with autism his favourite pizza. The post thanked the entire staff, but most notably a waitress named Pauline, who went out of their way to serve the boy pizza Margherita despite the restaurant not serving the dish in the morning.

The restaurant got pizza from a different establishment and made the boy very happy indeed! The mother, who uploaded the post, stated that the staff was more than generous and kind, checking in every few minutes to check if everything was fine with the pizza. She thanked them for their kind treatment and stated that she cannot stop praising their act of kindness.
