Fabio Spiteri Gets Jake Vella Tattoo

Maltese triathlete and Iron Man Fabio Spiteri wanted to keep his late friend Jake Vella’s memory alive – and he did so by getting a tattoo of the young hero on his side.

The tattoo had the dates of Jake’s birth and passing (2009-2024) beneath an image of the always motivated young ambassador in action.

Jake, who suffered from ROHHAD (Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation, and Autonomic Dysregulation), passed away late last August after a period of hospitalisation.

Despite his medical challenges, Jake showed an indomitable spirit, always learning and raising money for animals.

Rest in Peace Jake!

3 Men Arrested After Gunshots Fired In Naxxar

Police arrested three men after, throughout last night, they allegedly fired shots in direction of each other.

It was at around 2230hrs that police assistance was called for in Triq Santa Klara, Naxxar.

Police convened on site and found a residence gate broken and persons on the inside.

Preliminary investigations show that a 41 year old man resident of Ħal Qormi allegedly drove and broke the gate with a vehicle. He reportedly exited the vehicle and fired some shots at the residence.

He later escaped the scene with the vehicle. At that time, two men and three women were in the residence and no one was injured.

A search was immediately started for the vehicle, a Mercedes, and the person involved.

At around 0230hrs, the man gave himself in to the police after going to the Qormi police station. The man alleged that some shots were fired at him from the residence, but he was not injured.

Further investigations yielded the vehicle of the 51 year old man in Triq il-Kosta, having sustained various damages. Markings compatible with firearms were found on the vehicle. No firearm was found in the vehicle.

The police returned to the residence in Naxxar and found a gun, leading to the arrest of two men, aged 64 and 35.

An inquiry has been opened as investigations are ongoing.

Posting on social media, Abela wrote how it was such a pleasure to meet the First Lady and have the opportunity to discuss various topics such as diversity.

She also met with other spouses of leaders during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Prime Minister Robert Abela also addressed the United Nations Security Council in New York, advocating for progress, better quality of life and peace as the key to stability.

UK Prime Minister’s 1st Trip Abroad Was To Malta To Play Flute

Addressing the Labour Party’s Conference in the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer revealed that his first ever trip abroad was to the island of Malta to play the flute.

Starmer explained that the flute was something that provided him with so many opportunities and joy, as he travelled with the Croydon Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

Speaking about the arts during this section of his conference speech, the recently elected UK leader unveiled that the island of Malta was the very first trip beyond the UK – and it brought him great joy too!
