Eversio Racing Gain Impressive 2nd-Place Finish At Sebring 12hr IRacing Event

Project Eversio Racing celebrated a major milestone at the iRacing Sebring 12hr event, securing an impressive 2nd-place finish in the LMP2 class. This was only their second-ever endurance race, making their success even more remarkable. The team, comprised of drivers Brandon Bonello, Mikhail Mercieca, and Jake Sammut, each took a four-hour stint, focusing on consistency and teamwork throughout the grueling race.

Starting in 9th position from a 15-car grid, Eversio Racing strategically avoided mistakes, which allowed them to challenge for the top spot. They competed in Split 3, with over 14 splits in their time slot, placing them in a highly competitive field. Their strength of field rating was 3097, highlighting the tough competition they faced.

According to new data released by Eurostat, Malta has emerged as the country in the EU in 2023, with 76 immigrants per 1,000 residents.

The data reveals that Malta was followed by Cyprus, which had 43 immigrants per the same rate.

It was also revealed that 4.3 million people immigrated to the EU from non-EU countries in 2023, which is a decrease of 17.9% from the previous year (5.3 million).

Meanwhile the lowest rates were registered in Slovakia, with just 1 immigrant per 1,000 residents, followed by France with 6 per 1,000.

When looking at immigrants by previous country of residence, in 2023 the highest shares of immigrants from other EU countries were in Luxembourg at 85.7% and Slovakia at 57.5%.

Cyclist Grievously Injured After Crash In San Ġwann

Today, at around 1045hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in Triq il-Balal, San Ġwann.

Police convened on site and found that a traffic accident had taken place between a bicycle, driven by a 33 year old Italian man, and a DAF truck, driven by a 32 year old man resident of Mosta.

The cyclist was given medical attention and transported to Mater Dei Hospital. He was later certified has having suffered grievous injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
