
District & Community Police officers recently completed a comprehensive training session conducted by the Human Rights Directorate (HRD) at the Academy for Disciplined Forces.
The training program was thoughtfully designed to equip our officers with crucial skills and insights, fostering a more inclusive and empathetic approach to their service. Some key highlights of the training included:
‘𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘪𝘥: Our officers now possess valuable knowledge to provide essential support to individuals dealing with mental health challenges.’
‘𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘐𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴: We’re committed to fostering an environment of respect and understanding for all individuals. Our officers are now better equipped to interact respectfully with transgender individuals, using correct pronouns and upholding their dignity.’
‘𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦: With the upcoming Euro Pride event in Malta, our officers delved into the significance of the Rainbow Flag and the importance of the Pride movement.’
The training forms part of the Malta Police Transformation Strategy (2020-2025) to ‘𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.’
