David Casa Calls Out Labour Party's Mixed Messages on Abortion
Apr 12 2024 Share

Nationalist Party MEP David Casa has recently taken to social media to criticise the Labour Party’s stance on abortion in Malta. In a recent video, Casa accused the Labour Party of “deception and inconsistency” in their approach.

He pointed out that while the Labour Party has publicly opposed abortion in Malta, a resolution was signed by a representative of the same party, with only half of the Labour delegation voted against this resolution.

Casa emphasised that the Nationalist Party firmly opposes abortion and challenged the Labour Party to clarify its true intentions regarding this issue.

The PN & EPP MEP expressed his concerns about the Labour Party’s mixed messages and is awaiting an explanation from the Prime Minister. He questioned whether the Prime Minister was aware that only half of his party’s delegation opposed the resolution.

In another post, Casa reiterated that abortion should remain a national competency and proudly stated his vote against the measures supported by a Labour Party representative. He calls for greater transparency from the Labour Party on their actual agenda concerning abortion.

This facility, which recently welcomed its first elderly residents, boasts 120 rooms spread across four floors and is built to the highest standards, featuring spacious areas for resident comfort.

During his inauguration speech, Prime Minister Abela highlighted the site’s potential for various projects but underscored the government’s decision to establish it as a dedicated residence for Gozitan seniors, in collaboration with the Church and private sector. He emphasized the collaborative effort between government, Church, and private entities in delivering essential services, showcasing a successful model of partnership.

Discussing the strategy for Gozo over the next decade, Prime Minister Abela emphasized the priority of improving quality of life for all Gozitans, especially the elderly, encouraging them to remain active within their communities and in residential care settings. He emphasized leveraging our demographic shift to integrate seniors in care homes into community activities.

Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri described this investment as significant, indicating a home that will accommodate around 120 seniors and significantly enhance their quality of life.
