Gladiator 2 Filming Put On Hold As Entertainment World Goes On Strike

Filming for Ridley Scott’s epic sequel to Gladiator, alongside thousands of other productions, has come to an abrupt halt after the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) advised its members to walk out of productions on Friday morning.

This comes amid a major strike from workers in the entertainment world as they call for increased pay and better working conditions.

Shutdown preparations were reportedly under way over the past few days, with the strike being for the long haul according Hollywood sources and union spokespersons.

Filming for Gladiator 2 started in Malta back in June and was planned to last for four months, with locations including Kalkara’s Fort Ricasoli, which is one of the film’s central locations.

What does the future hold for Hollywood?

Mass Gathering Calling For Justice For Jean Paul Sofia To Be Held At Castille On Monday

Jul 14 2023 Share

Jean Paul Sofia’s mother, Isabelle Bonnici, took to Facebook via the page Għal Jean Paul to invite the public to a mass gathering calling for justice for Jean Paul on Monday 17th July at 8pm.

Thousands have gathered in support of the grieving mother after Members of Parliament voted down an opposition motion demanding a public inquiry into the tragic death of Jean Paul in a construction site accident last December.

The Parliamentary decision unleashed nationwide backlash, with many calling for, at the very least, a sliver of sympathy in the face of such saddening consequences as the young man’s parents continue to call for justice for their son.

“As I have always said and, as are my principles, death does not have any colour except black. Let us come together as one people with the colour of love. Sending a huge embrace on behalf of my dear son Jean Paul and all those who truly loved him”, Bonnici wrote in a recent post.

The gathering will be held in front of Castille on Monday at 8PM and those who plan on attending have been asked to bring a candle.

Tarxien Road Set Ablaze After 3 Separate Garbage Fires Dumped From Truck

Tarxien Road Set Ablaze After 3 Separate Garbage Fires Dumped From Truck
Jul 13 2023 Share

A significant portion of Tarxien’s Triq id-Dejma turned into fairly dangerous ground after it was set ablaze as a result of three separate garbage fires.

An eyewitness reported that an initial fire began from within a waste management truck, with the on-duty workers dumping the burning garbage onto the road.

Due to the significant amount of waste, three large burning piles were created across Triq id-Dejma, generating a significant amount of smoke in the area whilst creating a safety hazard for residents and passers-by.

The Civil Protection Department has been contacted.
