The win over Lionel Messi’s Argentina was the biggest shock in World Cup history as the Gulf state managed to beat one of the tournament’s favourites.

“We are so happy about the result. It was an exceptional match from our falcons,” said Ghassan Alwan, 42, marketing director at the Saudi ministry of housing. “Our faith in our players was in the right place. We wrote history tonight.”

The inner circle of Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman was absolutely ecstatic over the victory, as Saudi Arabia is placed at the top of Group C, at least temporarily.

Following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo will be leaving the team through mutual consent and with immediate effect.

United issued a lengthy statement on Tuesday evening announcing that they reached a mutual agreement with the 37-year-old football star to terminate his contract.

During the TalkTV interview, Ronaldo revealed that he felt betrayed by the club and has no respect for manager Erik ten Hag. ‘Man Utd doubted me over my sick daughter when I missed pre-season’ and ‘Glazer family don’t care about Man Utd’ said the player.

The Portugal captain claimed members of the United hierarchy were trying to force him out of Old Trafford. The team said they wanted to consider full facts and decided to part ways with the forward footballer.

According to Sky Sport News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, there is a sense of relief at the club that the issue has finally been solved. Ronaldo is currently representing his home country of Portugal at the Qatar World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Glazer family announced it is commencing a process to explore alternatives and potentially bring an end to its 17-year ownership of the Manchester United club. On the day Ronaldo’s leaving was confirmed, a statement was issued.

This reveals plans to identify new investment that could lead to a potential sale. The club said the process, led by their American owners, will consider a number of options “including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the company.’
