ECOHIVE Academy Opens Its Doors

A new interactive and educational center, located within Marsaskala Family Park, has recently opened its doors to the public, offering a wealth of knowledge on Malta’s waste management systems and best practices.

Developed by WasteServ Malta, the ECOHIVE Academy stands as the pioneering center of its kind, dedicated to educating visitors on waste management and promoting sustainable behaviors through interactive exhibits and digital experiences.

Joined by Miriam Dalli, Minister for the Environment, Energy, and Regeneration of the Grand Harbour, and Richard Bilocca, CEO of WasteServ, members of the press were invited to explore the offerings of this innovative hub.

Minister Dalli hailed the completion of the project, citing the ECOHIVE Academy as a manifestation of the government’s forward-looking approach to waste management. She stressed the importance of viewing waste as a valuable resource and expressed optimism that the center would bridge the gap between public perception and reality.

The ECOHIVE Academy delivers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, leveraging augmented reality, interactive displays, and digital games to convey the significance of sustainability and waste management. It aims to make learning about these crucial topics engaging and accessible to all.

Richard Bilocca, CEO of WasteServ, underscored the necessity of investing in future generations, noting that the ECOHIVE Academy not only enhances learning experiences but also encourages individuals of all ages to participate in positive change. This initiative reflects WasteServ’s enduring commitment to education.

Divided into various zones, each dedicated to different aspects of waste management within the ECOHIVE project, the center allows visitors to explore using tablets and QR codes, unlocking games and accessing valuable information on effective waste management and its role in fostering a circular economy.

The ECOHIVE Academy welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 am and 4 pm. Admission is free. For more information visit ecohive.com.mt/academy.

Criminal Charges Against Muscat, Mizzi & Schembri Reportedly Presented

Taking to social media, former Nationalist Party MP Jason Azzopardi alleged that a number of criminal court accusations have been presented against a number of persons in relation to the inquiry by Repubblika.

These include former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri.

‘Be transparent. A new chapter for Malta is being written today’, wrote Azzopardi.

In a separate Facebook post, Azzopardi alleged that Edward Scicluna, the Central Bank governor, has also had criminal charges against him presented. These charges, Azzopardi stated, translate in years of imprisonment.

These reports were also confirmed with MaltaToday by a number of sources, including former President of NGO Repubblika Robert Aquilina.

This also comes as Steward Health Care, the US healthcare giant, filed for bankruptcy on Monday.

Today Marks The 20 Year Anniversary of Friends Finale

Today marks the 20th year anniversary of the iconic Friends finale that remains one of the most remembered and iconic finales of any sitcoms released.

Spoiler alert if you somehow have not seen the show yet, the last episode of the show sees Monica and Chandler finally complete their love story by welcoming in 2 adopted twins into their growing family whilst also deciding to move out of their iconic flat for a bigger space whilst it also ends with Ross and Rachel finally getting together after countless seasons with fans wondering if  the two will have their happy ending.

This will also be the first time the iconic Friends cast will be commemorating a milestone without the presence of actor Matthew Perry who won the hearts of millions with his portrayal of Chandler Bing and due to his addiction struggles sadly passed away last year.

It is reported that ever since his shocking death the cast have gotten closer to each other and have helped each other through  out this tough time. The cast is said to be very committed to preserving Perry’s memory, by supporting the Matthew Perry Foundation, an organization which is dedicated to helping those suffering with addiction.
