Italy’s ‘Guardia di Finanza’ is investigating 41 doctors after some of them reportedly issued false sick certificates as some if their colleagues did not want to go to work out of fear of COVID-19.

Preliminary investigations reported how doctors were giving their colleagues these fake certificates. Some of the ‘patients’ did not even go to the doctors personally, simply asking for them to produce the forged documents. A rainy weekend to start off a thundery next week

A rainy weekend to start off a thundery next week
Oct 21 2021 Share

As we approach the weekend, the weather has seemingly prepared some isolated showers starting tomorrow on Friday and going into Saturday 23rd October. We’ll be offered some temporary respite on Sunday, but the sky will still be mainly clouded as we head into a new week.

Starting next week however, Monday is set to be a thunderous beginning, with the following days also set to continue a trend, albeit with just possible isolated showers. Temperatures have hit the 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, so the heat waves do seem to be behind us.

But we’re now entering the other spectrum of weather patterns. It’s time to kick back and call in your buddies for a relaxed movie night or whatever happens to be your favourite indoor activity. If you’re venturing out, make sure you’re equipped with some boots, an umbrella and easy access to shelter. Make sure you’re safe but enjoy the cooling weather as autumn rolls on.

Minister celebrates 7 years since the banning of animal circuses in Malta

Minister celebrates 7 years since the banning of animal circuses in Malta
Oct 21 2021 Share

Posting to Facebook, Social Accommodation minister Roderick Galdes opened up about his decision to contribute to the ban of animal circuses in Malta. Today, 21st October 2021, is the seven year anniversary of when the law, which Roderick Galdes worked on, came into effect. He stated how he looks back with satisfaction at his personal career and observes how certain decisions which were taken then were not easy choices to make in a different local context.

He however exclaims how he was sure this decision to end animal circuses, despite probably being against mainstream currents, was motivated with the future in mind and with good reason. The bill was approved back in 2014, including amendments to also have harsher criminal sanctions against those who are found guilty of animal cruelty. Galdes said that this decision improves our conscience when it comes to the safeguarding of animal life, with many supporting his view. Some praised Galdes for his standing up for the voiceless creatures we share the world with, and others outright condemning animal circuses as cruelty.
