Between 2024 and 2025, the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools (FTS) invested around €2 million to upgrade sports and recreational facilities in state schools and Child Protection Centres across Malta and Gozo.
The works, carried out in coordination with the Ministry for Education and the Foundation for Educational Services (FES), included new artificial turf installations and improvements to outdoor activity spaces.
Education Minister Clifton Grima and Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti visited Valletta Primary School to view the refurbished facilities. Minister Grima highlighted the government’s commitment to creating better environments for students to engage in sport and physical activity.
“This investment ensures more suitable open spaces where students can exercise and enjoy physical activity, which is vital for their development,” he said.
Azzopardi Tanti added that the improvements also support children’s mental and social well-being, emphasising sport’s role in a balanced lifestyle.
