The local tattoo artist Tetinu provided the duo with the artistry, writing out the iconic line ‘SERVING KANT’ on the back of the arm.

‘Can’t get removed now’, the caption reads, a nod to the ongoing debate about what should happen about the title of the song given its name ban by the Eurovision Broadcast Authority.

‘Inservu KANT’: Chucky Bartolo Hits Out At Word Change

'Inservu KANT': Chucky Bartolo Hits Out At Word Change

Taking to social media, Chucky Bartolo asked why the Maltese are so quick to please foreign critics of our local art – in this case, Miriana Conte’s Eurovision song KANT.

‘Is the series LOKI a comedy for us just becasue there’s a character named LOKI that means toilet in Maltese’, asked Chucky.

‘Are we the only ones who are able there are more than one language? There could be a word in, say, Russian, that can sound bad. But we know there are people who speak languages that don’t know Maltese.’

‘Why are we the ones to put effort?’

He said that if BBC are unable to recognise languages other than theirs, then it’s up to them not to play KANT.

He encouraged people to look up the Streisand effect – which is an effect that leads to people putting more attention on things that are being hidden or censored.

Chucky concluded by saying that if the Maltese are still too concerned about the word, we can say ‘Inservu Kant’.
