The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector has awarded the National Volunteer Award to Dr George Grech.
Dr Grech provides free medical services to Dar tal-Providenza and has done so for over 15 years.

Today would have been King Henry VI’s birthday
King Henry VI was the King of England between 1422-1461 and from 1470-1471.
Born on December 6th, 1421, today would have been King Henry’s birthday.
King Henry VI was only nine months old when he succeeded his father. This makes him the youngest person ever to succeed to the English throne.

Major oil-producing EU country will end oil production by 2050
A vote taken on the 3rd of December at the Danish Parliament affirmed a near-total ban on new contracts being issued for oil or gas exploration in the North Sea.
Licenses which were issues before the vote will be sustained until 2050. This move is estimated to cost Denmark around 2.1 billion.
Danish Minister of Climate and Energy and Public Utilities, Dan Jorgensen said that “It’s a tough decision, it’s an expensive decision, but it’s the right decision”.

Accident in Kirkop involving motorcycle and car
At 7:30PM yesterday evening a motorcycle collided with a car in Kirkop.
The motorcycle was being driven by a 31-year-old Pakistani man and the car was being driven by a 47-year-old woman from B’Kara.
The 31-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital according to the police.
