Times of Malta reported how a dog breeder, whose grandmother was killed in 2020 by his own pit-bulls, was attacked by his own dogs on Monday morning.

Andre Galea was hospitalised after being attacked outside his residence on Antonio Sciortino Street in Msida.
Witnesses told Times of Malta that at around 0130hrs on Monday, they were alerted to the attack due to Galea’s screams and cries for help.
One dog, witnesses said, was biting Galea and attacking his hands, face and feet whilst another dog ‘ran around in the street.’
Galea had made headlines back in 2020 after his 95 year old grandmother was attacked by two of his own dogs as well.
Times of Malta revealed that one of the witnesses attempted to open the door for Galea to let him in but other neighbours warned her not to do so as they feared the dogs would attack her.
Galea protected himself by climbing onto a parked car, with the police arriving within minutes. Animal Welfare restrained the attacking dog, waiting for a vet to bring a sedative. Both dogs were reportedly in custody by 0345hrs.
Galea himself also stands accused of involuntary homicide of his grandmother Inez. He was cleared of animal cruelty in separate proceedings after wounds on the dogs were suspected to be sustained during dog fights.
