Doctors call for improved enforcement of drink driving

Doctors for Road Safety have asked for better enforcement of drink-driving laws in order to lessen the number of offenders.

They are arguing for more manpower on the streets in order to better-regulate and enforce laws.

With improved enforcement will come a significant difference in offences.

36-year-old cashier held at knife-point in Bormla

Yesterday evening a 36-year-old female cashier was held at knife-point in Bormla. The offender managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

This happened yesterday at around 6:30 PM in Oratory street, Bormla.

This roundabout is getting a major glow-up with this monument

‘Ascension’ by Mizzi Studio has just won the Marsa Junction Project Public Art Competition and will be located on the main roundabout leading to the Addolorata Cemetery.

Ascension is made up of 44 columnar structures which will be illuminated and in constant flux, and will light up during the night.

Public holidays falling on Saturday and Sunday will be added to 2021 leave

Public holidays occurring on Saturdays and Sundays will be added to the yearly leave entitlement from 2021, as announced by the Government.

This law cancels out a decision taken in 2005 which did not award additional leave for weekend public holidays.

The changes await parliamentary approval and will mean three additional days of vacation leave which are Workers’ Day, Santa Marija and Christmas Day.
