University Students Beat Traffic With Bicycle Bus From Mosta

Yesterday, as many were stuck in traffic across various localities in Malta, a group of students participated in a bicycle bus from Mosta to University.

The ride took just 35 minutes at a comfortable pace, with some participants cycling outside of Mosta for the first time – and expressing how fun it was!

The ride was organised by MKSA – Media & Knowledge Sciences Association and led by NGO Rota.mt along with independent councillor Steve Zammit Lupi.

This comes as many are urging for alternatives to car transportation after massive traffic jams blocked many of Malta’s main roads and arteries yesterday morning.

The Malta Futsal national team made a spectacular start in the UEFA Euro qualifying preliminary round tournament, defeating Scotland 4-1 at the Mobiliar Arena in Bern, Switzerland.

The highlight of the match was Giancarlo Sammut’s incredible goal, which doubled Malta’s lead in breathtaking fashion.

Michael Borg lofted a pass into Sammut’s path, and with impeccable timing and technique, Sammut executed a stunning overhead kick that left the Scottish goalkeeper with no chance. This goal showcased Malta’s dominance and skill throughout the game.

Earlier in the match, Marrwan Telisi opened the scoring for Malta after Celino Alves’ assist. Malta maintained their tempo and added to their lead with a third goal from Celino Alves, demonstrating their control and determination. Michael Borg later sealed the victory with a confidently taken penalty kick.

Despite a late consolation goal from Scotland’s Kai Lawless, Malta’s lead was insurmountable. The win puts Malta on track to progress to the Main Round of the competition, where the top two teams from each group will compete in home-and-away fixtures starting in December.
