Loridana Darmanin was elected in the Mellieħa local council, and this prompted a wholesome reaction by her daughter Rebecca who embraced her mum and cried in joy with her.

Her daughter Rebecca took to social media to share the news and the moment she hugged her mum for her achievement, being moved to tears.

The result in Mellieħa still awaits the election of a mayor as the locality elected 4 PL candidates, 4 PN candidates and an independent candidate.

The mayor will be decided in the first meeting of the local council and thus there are no indications of who the mayor will be. The vote may depend on the independent candidate, who will vote for a candidate of either party.

People Want Love Island Malta To Start Airing Earlier

Love Island Malta producer Ben Camille took to Instagram stories to share the flood of requests for the programme to start airing earlier.

Meanwhile, in an inStagram poll he held, over 96% of followers were in favour of the programme being aired an hour earlier at 9pm, given that the locally beloved show starts at 10pm on regular weekdays.

However, the air time was pushed even further back this week due to the MEP and Local Council elections, keeping viewers up until midnight in some cases.

Some followers even personally DM-ed him, saying things like:

‘What are you doing to us? We’re waking up like zombies and I don’t know if I’m living. Next year at 9pm please!’
