DAR Bjorn, a sanctuary for individuals battling ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases, has lost its youngest resident, Kate, at just 16 years old.
The news of her passing was shared by Bjorn Formosa, the founder of DAR Bjorn and local ALS activist, who took to social media to express his deep sorrow over the loss.
In his message, Formosa paid tribute to Kate, reflecting on the brief time she spent under their care. “Dear Kate, I wanted to get to know you earlier, I want to hear you perform, I really wanted to help you. In the few weeks you spent with us at DAR Bjorn, I understood how much your family loves you. Now take care of them from up there and rest,” Bjorn wrote.
His words truly shone a light the profound impact Kate had on the community and the love that surrounded her during her short stay.
The loss of such a young life has resonated deeply within the DAR Bjorn family and beyond.
RIP Kate
