It was revealed by KSU (Kunsill Studenti Universitarji) that the Period Locker, set up at the University of Malta, has been broken into, damaged and had considerable amount of stock stolen.

The act of vandalism reportedly happened over the weekend, with KSU announcing that this has prompted them to move the locker to a more secure location. 

‘It is immensely disappointing to see an initiative targeted at accessibility and inclusion being abused of’, KSU wrote. 

They also explained that the new location of the lockers will be outside the KSU Office. However, ‘this is far from ideal’, the group wrote, saying that the ‘aim behind this locker was to provide a service in a dignifying and respectful manner.’ 

The organisation still hopes of returning the locker to the original location and asserted that CCTV footage is being analysed to find out how the vandalism took place and by whom.

The world’s first anti-vape reforms are set to be introduced by the Australian government this month as officials intend to target the black market of the practice.

The reforms are to be introduced in the May budget and will target everything from packaging, importation, availability and contents. 

A whopping AUD $234 million are to be used to fund the measures, with the changes set to be unveiled on the 2nd of May by Health minister Mark Butler. 

The laws will see the stopping of importing of non-prescription vapes, the restriction of flavours, colours and other ingredients. 

Packaging will also be made plain, whilst also reducing nicotine concentration and banning all single-use, disposable vapes. 

Despite still being legal to buy a nicotine vape with a prescription, the government intends to make it increasingly difficult. 

According to data compiled by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, e-cigarette use by Australians aged 14 or older doubled from 2016 to 2019.

Malta’s award-winning, iconic beer brand Cisk has recently launched new bold and vibrant branding for its main brand Cisk Lager and low-carb variant Cisk Excel, with the newly designed cans and bottles beginning to appear on supermarket shelves and in popular bars and kiosks across Malta and Gozo.

This launch marks the initial phase of a longer-term project which has been in the making for some time and which has been developed through a detailed process of market research, strategy and creative thinking, in collaboration with renowned UK-based agency, bluemarlin. From the vibrant and warm colours to the newly modelled stallion proudly rearing up above the Cisk word mark, all elements of the new branding build on a history and legacy to be proud of, placing Malta at its core and looking to the future with confidence.

Cisk, the flagship brand of the Farsons Brewery, was born in 1929 and went on to play a definitive role in the local beverage industry. First brewed by the Scicluna family in a predominantly wine-drinking culture, the market soon started to embrace the beauty and love of beer.

The new identity is locked into place with the signature of ‘iċ-Cisk’, John Scicluna.

Today Cisk is brewed in a state-of-the-art brewery and as long-standing independent brewers, the Farsons Brewery remains committed to the family traditions and heritage that have sustained the brand all these years.

The original Cisk Lager Beer is a golden-coloured, bottom-fermented lager with a distinctive and well-balanced character. Its rich hop aroma and pleasant bitterness has made it the natural choice and thirst quencher for beer drinkers who want to savour the original brew which always has and continues to remain faithful to its recipe of 1929.

The first two new Jumbo-Size Plastic (PET) Reverse Vending Machines have been unveiled in Malta – and they can accept multiple plastic bottles at one go. 

The machines are situated at Pembroke Park & Ride car park and the BCRS Clearing Centre in Ħal Far, adding to the 320 Reverse Vending Machines operating around the island.

These can store up to 9,000 plastic bottles before filling up completely and thus make it easier for those utilising them to recycle. 

Operational between 6am until 10pm everyday of the week, the machines do not accept can and glass containers. However, they can be returned using the RVMs in the Hub adjacent to every Jumbo Plastic Machine which continues to operate 24/7.
