Cyrus Engerer responds to jabs made by Eve Borg Bonello

PL MEP Cyrus Engerer has responded to remarks made by youngest and PN MP Eve Borg Bonello on TVM show XTRA.

This comes after Borg Bonello said that the difference between the two main parties is clear. ‘The PN have a European Parliament President, the PL has an MEP who was found guilty of sex crimes and wants to present himself as progressive.’

Borg Bonello was referencing Engerer being convicting of distributing revenge porn back in 2014 before becoming an MEP for the Labour Party.

In response, Engerer took to Facebook to write; ‘Politics has taught me that you need to talk less, listen to everyone and work even more. It seems as though there are some who are still yet to learn this lesson.’

Borg Bonello was speaking during a debate with PL MP Cressida Galea, in which the two politicians discussed the gender quota mechanism amongst other topics.

WATCH: Protected birds ‘massacred’ in illegal shooting at Delimara

NGO BirdLife Malta took to social media to reveal that a whole flock of protected Western Marsh-harriers was ‘massacred’ by hunters at Tas-Silg in Delimara last night.

The birds of prey, known as Bagħdan Aħmar in Maltese, were reportedly trying to roost in the valley and were illegally targeted during the night.

The NGO said that their teams remained on site overnight following reports that the birds were roosting in the area yesterday afternoon. Hunters opened fire on the birds a few hours after sunset, ‘with the massacre caught on film.’

Police who convened on site found five birds, with four injured and another retrieved dead from the area. BirdLife Malta released exclusive footage of the shooting along with a press release about the illegal hunting incident which ‘shows that hunting enforcement measures are out of control as a result of amnesties on taxidermy collections.’

Photos were also released by Steve Zammit Lupi on his Instagram story, handling what seem to be injured and even another dead bird following an incident.

Maltese activists risk their lives in Ukraine to deliver food for war victims

Maltese cousins Douglas and Lorna have braved the horrors of the Ukraine war to deliver well-needed and vital resources such as food to people suffering from the invasion.

The pair left Malta for Ukraine last Tuesday, with their food convoy arriving in Odessa yesterday. Sharing snippets of their journey on social media, they require all the help they need to assist those suffering from Russia’s invasion.

The Maltese activists plan to evacuate women and children with five vans from the city of Mykolaiv, situated near Odessa. The city had suffered intense shelling and bombing in the past few days, but this has not deterred the cousins.

They now estimate that they can evacuate around 100 people to more secure locations which are undergoing construction for refugee safety through raised funds.

One can follow their social media handles and donate to their heroic cause through the various means they have listed. The cousins have already extended their thanks to all those who have contributed as of yet, saying that more work needs to be done to help so many lives.

Marvel drops Thor: Love and Thunder trailer and fans are losing it

The trailer for Marvel’s fourth Thor movie has just dropped, and it has surfaced massive excitement for MCU fans after a really long wait.

Starring Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God of Thunder and, as he would argue, the strongest avenger, the trailer has teased some massive plot lines and surprises.

Among them, is Natalie Portman playing Jane Foster wielding the hammer Mjolnir as ‘The Mighty Thor’, as Hemsworth’s Thor seeks to abandon his hero days to a more peaceful lifestyle.

The movie has also cast Christian Bale, who portrayed Batman in the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, as the main villain. The trailer did not show any scenes of him as Gorr the God Butcher however.

Chris Pratt is set to make an appearance as iconic Star Lord alongside some of the Guardians, with Russell Crowe also being cast as Olympian Zeus. Portman’s appearance as a female Thor however was the main highlight of the trailer.

Despite raising some controversy for some fans, many expressed excitement for the movie following the comic plot line. The cinematography has also wowed fans, expecting some top notch humour as well thanks to Taika Waititi.

It’s set to bring in a classic Thor adventure, picking up after the world-ending events of Endgame. Considering this is just a teaser for the film, we cannot wait for the official trailer, right before its release in July.
