A substantially large crowd gathered in the streets of Valletta to march and protest alongside the Nationalist Party over the rising cost of living.
Led by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech, protesters held slogans addressing various current and hot issues. These included slogans stating: ‘A government that wastes’, ‘Don’t touch our children’s education’ and ‘traffic has suffocated us.’
Meanwhile, Grech, accompanied by his wife and other PN candidates, held a large banner stating: ‘There isn’t enough for you (referencing the public), but there is enough for his friends’ (referencing Prime Minister Robert Abela and his government).
Addressing a speech, Grech quoted several personal messages he received from citizens expressing their woes at the rising cost of living. He and other speakers made reference to cases of corruption and other current issues being faced by the Maltese today.
