Following Portugal’s shock exit from the World Cup after a 1-0 loss to Morocco, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence with an emotional Instagram post.

“Winning a World Cup for Portugal was the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career,” the Portuguese superstar wrote to his 513 million followers. He went on to write that in his 5 World Cup appearances over 16 years, he always gave his all and left it all out on the field, never turned his face to the fight and never gave up.

“sadly yesterday the dream ended It’s not worth reacting to heat.”

Ronaldo was seen leaving the field in tears after Portugal’s loss to Morocco, with the loss being especially sombre for the fact he entered the match as a substitute.

“Thank you Portugal. Thank you Qatar The dream was nice while it lasted… Now, it’s hoping that the weather will be good advisor and allow each one to draw their own conclusions.”

The President’s Solidarity Fun Run in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation kicked off its 13th edition earlier today.

Many were in attendance, including Prime Minister Robert Abela, with the activity returning in full force without restrictions after two years.

Whoever chose to walk started their journey to Valletta from Paola, Santa Venera and Tal-Qroqq whilst those running started their journey in Rabat.

Many expressed their enthusiasm towards participating in such an event for a good cause, especially during the festive season. Prior to his run, the Prime Minister stated that he is happy to celebrate solidarity with the people and hopes to extend solidarity and respect throughout the rest of the year, especially with those facing adversity.

Malta’s Moroccan community erupted yesterday after the Atlas lions knocked Portugal out of the World Cup and became the first African team to make it to the competition’s semi-finals.

Sparking celebrations from Morocco to Paris, Malta’s own Moroccan community took to the streets of St. Julian’s in absolute elation to celebrate the North African nation’s shock 1-0 victory.

In 92 years of World Cup history, this is the first time an Arab or African country has ever reached the last four, with now-national goalkeeping hero Bounou stating “It’s really, really hard to find the words to describe this moment. All our team, the supporters on our backs, this is all I have.”

Following their win at Al Thumama stadium, Morocco will now take on reigning champions France and see whether they can get one step closer to making football history.
