The new strain of coronavirus has been confirmed to spread even faster by England’s chief medical officer Chris Witty.
The World Health Organisation has been informed of situation with Health Secretary Matt Hancock previously advising of the new variant.
This calls for further caution and vigilance in the country as the UK has seen another surge in cases recently.

The children residing at Mater Dei hospital got a surprise visit from a group of abseiling superheroes, which surely put a smile on their face.
The activity, organised by the Mosta Scouts, allowed the children to view their favourite superheroes abseil from the walls of a Mater Dei building from the safety of their own rooms.
What is even better is that the superheroes were accompanied by Father and Mary Christmas, which were actually doctors who form part of the Mosta Scouts in a very kind, wholesome initiative.

Earlier today, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development, Miriam Dalli announced that Maltese businesses will be receiving a total €6 million in electricity bill refunds as part of a scheme spearheaded by Malta Enterprise.
In addition to this, Dalli also revealed that the second round of government vouchers will be distributed in January and that the Wage Supplement will be given in time for December.
