The heat this week is set to only increase day by day, starting off at 28°C from today and going up to a whopping 30°C by Saturday. Only Friday will see some clouds with the rest being a baking 30.

The sun will be out and and radiating at UV 9 or 10 throughout the 7 days, so if you plan on hitting the beach, make sure to stay protected. COVID-19 is also another nuisance we have to look out for, so make sure to adhere to health restrictions to enjoy the week whilst being as safe as possible.

Eurovision 2021: A return to mass events and rock ’n’ roll

Eurovision 2021: A return to mass events and rock ’n’ roll
May 24 2021 Share

The 2021 edition of the Eurovision in Rotterdam is a historical moment for a multitude of reasons. The first was Italy’s victory by Maneskin, which had not won the Eurovision since 1990. And, the group did it with a seeming return to rock and roll. The resurgence of rock and roll managed to beat the styles often highlighted in Eurovision, with lead singer Damiano David shouting ‘Rock ’n’ roll never dies!’.

The second historical aspect of 2021’s Eurovision edition is the fact that it showed Europe what mass events could look like in a pandemic or post-pandemic world. It shows how, given proper health restrictions and vaccination, mass events can make a comeback in a safe and fun environment.

62 year-old man found guilty of kissing 13-year-old girl on 3 year probation
May 24 2021 Share

A 62-year-old man has been placed on probation for three years after having been found guilty of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in a women’s toilet. The man, a Gozitan resident of Ghajnsielem who is receiving psychiatric treatment, was charged with corruption of a minor and nonconsensual sexual acts. The incident happened on 3rd November 2019, and the man was initially found not guilty on both charges.

The attorney however appealed and requested for a change of sentence after the evidence resulted in finding out the incident happened in Xewkija playground when the girl was playing on the swing. Asking her to go near him, the man led her to the women’s toilet. There, the man hugged her, bit her neck and touched her before asking for a kiss, with the girl denying and running out to get help from her mother. The man asked not to be touched after being confronted by the mother, saying he is ‘disabled’. He was arrested on site by police.
